Lukács Baths – a local favourite
The Lukács Bath was the favourite baths of the Turkish Grand Vizier, Pasha Mustafa. After Buda was recaptured from the Turks in 1686, the baths became the property of the Treasury. Visitors seeking remedies for their diseases came from all parts of the world. After successful recovery, many of them placed marble plaques on the walls of the spa. The newly renovated spa is a complex of thermal pools, swimming pools, activity pools, a wellness section and saunas offering a wide range of services for visitors. It is a favourite meeting place of Budapest's leading intellectuals, artists and politicians. The waters of the spa are believed to be medically the most effective of any of the spas in Budapest.
